Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training
May is Mental Health Awareness month. Please join the library’s Mental Health Coordinator and Terry Reilly for a suicide prevention gatekeeper training. QPR offers three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. QPR trains individuals to be suicide prevention "gatekeepers" which is someone who is able to recognize a crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. Gatekeepers can be anyone, and can include parents, friends, and neighbors. As a QPR-Trained Gatekeeper, you will learn to: recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope, and know how to get help and save a life.
