Water Wise Landscaping and Gardening Workshop Series
Learn how to plant a water wise garden this spring with the Ada Soil and Water Conservation District. An 8 week series on a variety of topics such as xeriscaping, plant selection and garden design.
This weeks topic is:
Designing for Pollinators & Water Conscious Gardening
We regularly design and install gardens we fondly call Dry English Gardens. It’s entirely possible to have a lush, flower filled garden with more drought tolerant plants. Let us highlight the plants that do well in our climate with our native soil. The pollinators and birds will thank you. Topics addressed include;
Regionally native plants for habitat
Ways to remove a portion of your lawn to add garden beds
Lawn types that are very drought tolerant
How to see your space in a new way by adding curving edges, shrubs that feed pollinators and birds, plants that are interesting year round.
How to convert to driplines without costly sprinkler system renovations
