Returning to our Senses
As human beings, we learn about the world through the perception of our senses. Yet we writers sometimes make the mistake of trying to convey a story with our thoughts and opinions, or by summarizing and analyzing.
In this workshop be prepared to bundle up as we’ll practice retraining our powers of perception by going on a short nature walk to observe, listen, touch, and smell. Then we’ll gather back together to combine our keen perceptions into a series of Renga poems, an ancient form of poetry.
