Spicy, Sweet, and Hot, Oh My!
Spicy, Sweet, and Hot. Oh My! The Biology of How We Taste Spices, by Dr. Allan Albig, BSU Biology professor and author of the book It’s Not Magic, It’s Biology. In this 1.5 hour interactive presentation for all ages, Dr. Albig will illustrate the crystal structure of spices and human taste receptors, and describe how we taste wasabi as hot, sugar as sweet, etc. May include a taste test of “magic berries!"
